He is 72 yo, and will not travel away from USA to give concerts (yes, I have asked him ) a couple of years ago he was in Sweden where yours truly had tickets…
They were not underrated Karin, they had massive exposure and for a time you could not take a sip of mate beer without hearing “Hippy Hippy Shake” on the radio.
What happened was they could not match that success with later material and then the 80s fizzled out and Dan lost interest.
Good southern feel-good music and great for parties!
In the end the Black Crowes ended up getting the prize for that type of music and industry slot.

Julio, I was very busy in the 80s, didn’t go to that many parties I have to say.
But what I meant by underrated (and here I beforehand excuse if my vocabulary is the main reason that I’m being misunderstood ) is that in opposite to that little band from Liverpool, what’s their name…? Oh yeah, Beatles, GS may have had their day, but you know Beatles are still “the band”, whereas GS, as you mention didn’t have the material to keep going economically.
I have all their albums (GS that is) and they made a lot of really good music.

I guess you know about his health problems, and I have heard some time ago he is ill again (and newly married , hope so much he’s pulling through) so I don’t know how much music he is making. But Homemade Sin was/is a terrific band. Not making pop music, but good old blues inspired Rock’n’Roll.
