These terms govern your use of the Deep Purple Fan Forum at https://forum.thehighwaystar.com. By using the forum, you agree to these terms with The Highway Star, the entity operating the forum.

Your Permission to Use the Forum

Subject to these terms, you are granted permission to use the forum. Everyone must agree to these terms to access the forum.

Conditions for Use

To use the forum, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old.
  • Stop using the forum if The Highway Star directly notifies you to do so.
  • Comply with the Acceptable Use and Content Standards sections.

Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • Break the law or encourage others to do so.
  • Use or attempt to use another person’s account without permission.
  • Buy, sell, or trade usernames or unique identifiers.
  • Send spam, chain letters, or solicitations.
  • Automate access (e.g., web crawlers, bots) unless indexing for a public search engine.
  • Use the forum to send mass emails or gather data for commercial purposes.
  • Impersonate others or falsely claim affiliation with The Highway Star.
  • Hyperlink to non-hypertext content (e.g., images) on other webpages.
  • Remove proprietary notices from downloaded materials.
  • Embed forum content in <iframe> on other sites.
  • Bypass security measures or strain forum infrastructure.
  • Encourage or assist others in violating these terms.

Content Standards

You may not submit content that is:

  • Illegal, offensive, harassing, abusive, or hateful.
  • In violation of laws, intellectual property rights, or privacy agreements.
  • Malicious (e.g., viruses, spyware).
  • A placeholder to reserve a username or address.
  • Confidential or personal information you do not have the right to disclose.

Enforcement

The Highway Star may:

  • Remove, edit, or delete content for any reason.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement authorities, if needed.

If you see a violation, contact us immediately.

Your Account

  • You must create and log into an account to access certain features.
  • You agree to provide and maintain a valid email address.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if your account is compromised.
  • The Highway Star may suspend or close your account for violations of these terms.

Your Content

  • You retain ownership of the content you submit (e.g., posts, account info).
  • You license The Highway Star to copy, publish, and analyze your content to provide the forum service.
  • This license ends when your content is permanently removed from our systems (including backups).
  • Others may violate your content’s licensing terms. The Highway Star is not liable for such violations.

Your Responsibility

You agree to:

  • Indemnify The Highway Star for legal claims arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of your account.
  • Allow The Highway Star to control the defense of such claims.
  • Notify The Highway Star promptly of any legal claims.

Disclaimers

  • You use the forum at your own risk.
  • The forum is provided “as is” without warranties.
  • The Highway Star is not responsible for third-party services or content linked from the forum.

Limits on Liability

  • The Highway Star is not liable for unforeseeable damages.

Feedback

  • You may submit feedback or suggestions about the forum.
  • The Highway Star may use your feedback without obligation to notify, compensate, or seek permission.
  • Do not submit confidential or proprietary information as feedback.

Termination

  • Either you or The Highway Star may terminate this agreement at any time.
  • Upon termination, your permission to use the forum ends.
  • The following sections survive termination: Your Content, Feedback, Your Responsibility, Disclaimers, Limits on Liability, General Terms.

Disputes

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
  • Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
  • No class actions or representative proceedings are permitted.

General Terms

  • If any provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or removed.
  • You may not assign your agreement with The Highway Star.
  • The Highway Star may assign this agreement to affiliates or successors.
  • These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and The Highway Star.

Changes

  • These terms were last updated on July 13, 2026.
  • The Highway Star will post updates on the forum.
  • For substantial changes, The Highway Star will email you (if you have a valid email on file).
  • You must agree to new terms to continue using the forum.
