This is the place to discuss Deep Purple and the immediate family tree, i.e. the bands and solo projects with participation of the band members. For example, Episode Six, Dixie Dregs, and Blackmore’s Night all qualify, while Elf or Hardin/York do not.
Let me repeat while I rub my eyes: A band
- whose singer played with Roger Glover and Rainbow plus guested at the DP Concerto restagings,
- whose bassist was with Rainbow and who played with Ian Paice in Gary Moore,
- whose keyboarder played and sang with Roger Glover, Rainbow, Ian Gillan Band to then become Jon Lord’s keyboard tech and later on Roger Glover’s bass tech,
- whose drummer played with Rainbow, and
- whose percussionist played with Roger Glover, Jon Lord, Ian Gillan Band and Glenn Hughes in Gary Moore’s G-Force,
does not qualify as DP Family? 
It is true that Elf consisted of short players, but that their recognition and status is dwarfed here as well (as it has been rather consistently already in the OABS of yore) really smarts.
