With the Splash! boxset and side B of the Guilt Trippin’ maxi we got now the complete Dresden 2024 show except Highway Star. Does anyone know why? Recording issues? I also think that the sound quality of this recording could be better but I’m very happy that we got an official live recording of that tour.
“Highway Star” is cut on many YouTube live videos (presumably due to copyright issues), as well as from the live CD *Bombay Calling*.

The missing start track on “Bombay Calling” is Fireball. They didn’t add it on the audio releases because they couldn’t remove Steve’s talking on the beginning of the track. That’s what was confirmed by Edel records to me on Facebook.

Yep- if you include the Japanese release of Splat!, the box set and the single, you do get all the tracks from Dresden. I can’t confirm if all the solos/between song chatter is there though. Anyone?
Unless some marketing genius is gonna make it out that it could be a full gig release in one dedicated edition, I’m not going to get bothered. Milking money out of them believers could use some sense of reason limit. Oh, wait, no it couldn’t, right? If so, burrrrrn, b*tches, burrrrn!

I agree! And I’m still confused that it wasn’t possible to remove Steve’s talking which means that the source for the LP was the DVD audiorip? 
That’s what it actually was. AFAIR, it was a TV broadcast, so no multitrack audio survived.
It was done for the local TV, and initially a couple of clips appeared on the SIFLS video back in 1996. A track or two was then put out via Thames Thompson on things like New, Live ,& Rare DVD, but when they came to do the whole show, only the broadcast master could be found. Given the multiple releases have all been the same, I guess they either couldn’t find the original tapes, or they had been wiped/re-used after the initial edit (a common practice with video tape to save money). Or maybe they just haven’t looked behind the right sofa.

You can betcha ass that he just described the fate of the majority of missing multitrack masters.
I’m a fan of classic (ie 1960s-80s) Doctor Who. You’d be surprised where they’ve found missing tapes/reels over the years

Since I already have Infinite in the special edition with the Hellfest DVD, if I wanted to have the Hellfest concert CD, what do you recommend I buy?
Infinite Gold ed. to save money?
Infinite Live recording CD Japan which costs more but is more “collector’s Edition”?
other publications I don’t know about?
was there also a version of Whoosh with the Hellfest live CD?
Flavio, the easiest way would be to extract the audio from DVD and burn it to CD. I can do such things, but I don’t think I have this particular DVD… Then I could send you the wav files to burn them into CD. If you do such things at all with the computer.

I can do that from my DVD too,
but it’s not exactly like having the original CD in the cabinet display case!
Ah yes. If that is the case - this indeed doesn’t solve your need, I apologize.
I do this for myself, in many cases when I compile the favourite bands to, as I call them, Personal Collections, the DVDs often provide me extra amount of official materials to choose from.
… or buy the “Infinite Live Recordings Vol. 1” on triple vinyl 
Unfortunately, I’ve never been a vinyl fan; I prefer CD collections for both convenience and sound.

I’m not aware of any Whoosh! special editions. I think some Hellfest tracks were on the Infinite singles, but not the full set. In short - goes for whatever works best for you
